The hydraulically actuated Lutex® HKB is a wet-running multi-disc clutch/brake combination. When the HKB is depressurised, the brake is activated by the pre-tensioned pressure springs. When pressurised oil is applied to the cylinder chamber, the piston moves against the spring force to the clutch disc pack. The brake disc pack opens and the clutch is engaged. This prevents the clutch and brake from overlapping. The HKB is particularly suitable for ‘intermittently driven machines’ such as presses, press brakes and similar machines.
