Apprenticeship as an Industrial Mechanic (m/f/d)

Alternatively, you can opt for a shortened 2-year apprenticeship to become a metal technology specialist specialising in assembly technology. In this apprenticeship, you will learn how to precisely manufacture and assemble machines, assemblies and components from individual parts.

With an intermediate school leaving certificate or secondary school leaving certificate, you have the ideal prerequisites for a successful start in this future-oriented profession. What you will learn during your training

Setting up machines and production systems for operation.
Manufacturing device parts, machine components, and assemblies, as well as assembling them onto machines and technical systems.
Setting up and commissioning machines and testing their functionality.
Maintaining and servicing the systems.

Identifying the causes of malfunctions.
Ordering or manufacturing suitable spare parts.
Turning, milling, drilling, and grinding materials, as well as assembling and adjusting components.
Welding or bolting the components.

Alternatively, there is also the option of completing a shorter 2-year training programme as a ‘metal technology assembly technician’. Specialists in metal technology specialising in assembly technology use joining techniques to produce components, assemblies and machines from individual parts.
