Repair job for a historic Claas Mercur combine harvester (built in 1965)

Background

In January, we received a request for spare parts for a Claas Mercur combine harvester (model series introduced in 1964). What makes this job special: the machine belongs to the LWL Open-Air Museum in Detmold and is still used every year to harvest heritage grain varieties plot by plot.

Component in focus

The machine is equipped with a Conax clutch, series KBF 9/3. This clutch engages the main drive and switches the installed assemblies on and off—making it a key component for reliable operation.
